Resumen:
A patient developed purulent pleuropericarditis secondary to a metapneumonic empyema, although neither local nor general conditions favouing the process existed. There follows a discussion of its etiology and most frequent pathogenic mechanisms.
Se presenta un caso de pleuropericarditis purulenta secundario a un empiema metaneumónico, en una paciente en la que no existían condicionantes locales, ni generales que favorecieran la localización del proceso.Se dicuten la etiología y los mecanismos patogénicos más recuentes.
