Resumen:

The number of cases surviving breas! cancer is analysedin a group of 459 patients, in clinical stage 1-11-111.Among same, 272 received oncologic assistance al mutualaid associations and 187 at hospital. The age averagewas 54 in the hospital group and 60 for the above mentioned associations, postmenopausal women beingpredominan! in both groups, 65% and 79% respectively.In all cases, the therapeutic procedures followed es•tablished patterns. The overall curve of life after breas!cancer is statistically significantly inclined in favor ofthe group under assistance al mutual aid associations.Similar conditions were found in each clinical stageanalysed. The menstrual phase the palien! is goingthrough was found of no value for the prevision of thesurvival rate.Hypothesis are offered to account for the difierencesin behavior of both groups.


Se analiza la sobrevida de 459 pacientes portadorasde cáncer de mama; en Estadio clínico I - II- III. De ellas272 recibieron asistencia oncológica en el medio mutual,y 187 a nivel hospitalario. La edad promedio fue 54años en el grupo hospitalario y 60 en el mutual; predo•minando en ambos grupos las mujeres postmenopáu•sicas, 65% y 79% respectivamente. En todos los casosla conducta terapéutica siguió pautas preestablecidas.La curva global de sobrevida es estadísticamente signi•ficativa a favor del grupo mutual. Símilar
