Ampliación de la base de datos epidemiológicos y morbimortalidad al alta de CTI de los pacientes con neurotrauma grave. Período 2005-2015

Resumen:

El objetivo del estudio fue analizar y describir la evolución de pacientes neurocríticos con traumatismo encefalocraneano grave (TEC) en su estadía en el CTI del Hospital de Clínicas del Uruguay en el periodo 2005-2020, mediante la revisión retrospectiva de historias clínicas almacenadas en el sistema de historias clínicas electrónicas de la Cátedra de Medicina Intensiva durante el período mencionado. La finalidad de este estudio fue describir las principales características epidemiológicas y las complicaciones durante la estadía en CTI, con énfasis en el impacto sobre la morbimortalidad al alta de la unidad. Para ello se ejecutó un estudio de tipo observacional, descriptivo, retrospectivo y analítico. Para este estudio se analizaron un total de 270 historias clínicas que sumados a la base de datos del estudio realizado en 2020 se llevó a un total de 373 pacientes. De ellos 286 (76,8%) fueron hombres y 87 (23,2%) mujeres. La media de edad fue de 40 con un desvío estándar ± de 18 años. El promedio de estadía en CTI fue de 13,7 días ± 14,1. Del total de los pacientes analizados, 90 (28,3%) presentaron hipertensión intracraneana (HIC) y 70 (18,9%) pacientes fallecieron.

The objective of the study was to analyze and describe the evolution of neurocritical patients with severe head injury (TBI) during their stay in the ICU of the Hospital de Clínicas del Uruguay in the period 2005-2020, through the retrospective review of medical records stored in the system of electronic medical records of the Chair of Intensive Medicine during the mentioned period. The purpose of this study was to describe the main epidemiological characteristics and complications during the ICC stay, with emphasis on the impact on morbidity and mortality upon discharge from the unit. For this, an observational, descriptive, retrospective and analytical study was carried out. For this study, a total of 270 medical records were analyzed, which added to the database of the study carried out in 2020, a total of 373 patients were taken. Of them, 286 (76.8%) were men and 87 (23.2%) were women. The mean age was 40 with a standard deviation ± 18 years. The mean stay in ICU was 13.7 days ± 14.1. Of the total of patients analyzed, 90 (28.3%) had intracranial hypertension (ICH) and 70 (18.9%) patients died.
