Calificación crediticia y exportaciones: un estudio a nivel de firmas

Resumen:
El objetivo principal de esta tesis de maestría es analizar el comportamiento exportador de firmas que tienen relación con el sistema financiero uruguayo, en función de sus restricciones crediticias. Para ello, se trabaja con una base de datos de panel que recopila información crediticia de firmas con cada institución bancaria y se cruza con datos de comercio exterior, permitiendo identificar firmas exportadoras, número de destinos a los que exportan y número de productos que envían al exterior para el período comprendido entre los años 2012 y 2019. Se utilizan modelos de probabilidad lineal y se encuentra que existe una relación significativa y positiva entre una mejor calificación crediticia y las condiciones exportadoras a nivel de firma.
The main objective of this thesis research is to analyze the export behavior of Uruguayan firms based on their credit constraints, as measured by their credit rating. To this end, a panel database that compiles credit information of firms with each banking institution will be used and cross-referenced with customs data, allowing theidentification of exporting firms, the number of destinations to which they export, and the number of products they send abroad, between 2012 and 2019. Linear probability models are used, and it is found that there is a significant and positive relationship between a better credit rating and export conditions at the firm level.
