En este artículo repasamos algunos abordajes críticos clásicos en torno a la institucióncarcelaria realizados desde el campo de las ciencias humanas y sociales. Comenzamosrefiriéndonos a los tempranos aportes realizados a la temática por Piotr Kropotkin (1877[1977], 1885 [2001]), para luego reseñar las contribuciones de Georg Rusche y Otto Kirchheimer (1939 [1984]) en el marco de los trabajos de la Escuela de Fráncfort, así como también las reflexiones desarrolladas al respecto por Michel Foucault (1975 [2005], 1976 [1992]), las cuales dan pie a la caracterización del “proyecto normalizador, correccional disciplinario” de la prisión (Sozzo, 2007). Por último nos referimos a la emergencia reciente del denominado “proyecto securitario” de prisión (Sozzo, 2007), el cual se puede enmarcar en el nuevo modelo penal de la seguridad ciudadana (Díez Ripollés, 2004, 2005y Rando Casermeiro, 2010) al tiempo que se nutre del declive del ideal de rehabilitación

This paper review some classic critical approaches around the prison institution made from the field of human and social sciences. It begins by referring to the early contributions made by Piotr Kropotkin (1877 [1977], 1885 [2001]) for later review the contributions of Georg Rusche and Otto Kirchheimer (1939 [1984]) in the framework of the work of the School of Frankfurt, as well as the reflections developed in this respect by Michel Foucault(1975 [2005], 1976 [1992]), which give rise to the characterization of the “normalizing, correctional and disciplinary project” of prison (Sozzo, 2007). Finally, we refer to the recent emergence of the so-called “security project” of prison (Sozzo, 2007), which can be framed in the new criminal model of citizen security (Díez Ripollés, 2004, 2005 and Rando Casermeiro, 2010) while that nourishes of the decline of the ideal of rehabilitation.
