La murga de Montevideo como forma de teatro periodístico
Resumen:
Este trabajo propone pensar la murga montevideana en relación con el “teatro periodístico” planteado por Augusto Boal. Para esto se exploran diferentes ejemplos de murgas que utilizan las técnicas propias del teatro periodístico en sus espectáculos, así como las similitudes entre este género carnavalesco y el movimiento Blue Blouse, originado en la Unión Soviética. Así mismo, se reflexiona acerca de las posibilidades de participación que ofrece la murga montevideana, para considerar si es posible entenderla como una forma genuinamente popular de teatro.
This article discusses the murga of Montevideo in connection with Newspaper Theatre, a technique proposed by Augusto Boal. To this end, it explores various examples of murgas that utilize Newspaper Theatre techniques in their performances, as well as the similarities between this carnival genre and the Blue Blouse movement from the Soviet Union. Finally, it reflects on the participatory possibilities offered by the murga of Montevideo, to consider whether it can be understood as a genuinely popular form of theater.
