Resumen:

Surgical treatment of inguinal hernia has beenthe object of much controversy which is reflectedhistorically in the deve/opment of mu/tipletechnique's. In the BO's this g9ve way to twotechniques which are clearly above other !treatments according to results. Sho¿ldice'sherniorraphia and interposition of pro/ene meshare at present two techniques which arecompatible, can be performed by the samesurgical team with excellent results which aresimilar to those obtained by groups specializedin the techniques.The aim was to determine reproductabilitycapacity and resu/ts in the same group ofsurgeons. lt is the authors' belief that with verysimilar results with both techniques, the easytechnica/ development of pro/ene mesh /eavesother techniques behind


El tratamiento quirúrgico de la hernia inguinal hasido objeto de múltiples controversias con eldesarrollo de distintas técnicas. En la década delos ochenta esta controversia ha dado paso a laimplantación de dos técnicas que por susresultados se han distanciado claramente deotras formas de tratamiento. La herniorrafia deShouldice y la interposición de malla de pro/eneson en la actualidad dos técnicas compatibles ycon unos resultados excelentes a largo plazo.Nuestro objetivo era determinar la capacidad dereproducción y los resultados en un mismogrupo de cirujanos. Concluimos que teniendoambas resultados muy similares, el fácildesarrollo técnico de la malla de pro/enedesplaza a las demás técnicas.
