The authors refer the results obtained from the study of 22 splenectomy pieces obtained from patients suffering from Hodgkin's disease. Out of a total of22 spleens, 13 -re.sected for the purpose of drawing up statisties- showed the characteristic lesions found in Hodgkin's disease. Macroscopic forms were dividedinto 4 categories: minodular, multinodular, confluent and miliary, according to the classification proposed by Ahmann et al for splenic lymphomas. Most fre-• quent macroscopic form was the multinodular type. There is a linear type relationshipo between the weight of the organ and the existence of Hodgkin-type lesions;an interesting aspect is that uninodular cases are found in spleens of normal weight. From the histological point of view . the majority of lesions correspond to the type known by thename of Lymphocitary Depletion. Finaly, the possible mechanisms leading to involvement of the spleen in Hodgkin'sdisease, are discussed.

Los autores presentan los resultados obtenidos en el estudio de 22 piezas de esplenectomía provenientes de pacientes portadores de enfermedad d Hodgkin.En 13 de los 22 bazos, resecados con fines de esta dificación, se apreciaron lesiones características de la enfermedad de Hodkin. Las formas macroscópicas fuerondivididas en 4 categorías: uninodular, multinodular, confluente y miliar, siguiendo la clasificación propuesta por Ahmann y col. para Linfomas esplénicos. Laforma macroscópica más frecuentemente observada fue la multinodular. Se observó una relación de tipo lineal entre el peso del órgano y la existencia de lesioneshodgkinianas, siendo de destacar que los casos uninodulares se observaron en bazos de peso normal. Desde el punto de vista histológico, la mayoría de laslesiones correspondían al tipo denominado Deplecion linfocitaria. Se discuten, finalmente, los posibles mecanismos de compromiso esplénico en la enfermedadde Hodgkin.
