Surgical treatment of mitral regurgitation: techniques and postoperative results
Tratamiento quirúrgico de la insuficiencia mitral: técnicas y resultados postoperatorios
Resumen:
This report covers a series of 14 patients who underwent substitution of mitral valve. In 11 cases StarrEdward's valve was employed and in the remaining three the valves were made of dura mater. Reasons for surgery, tactics and techniques employed and postoperatory results are described.
Se presentan 14 pacientes sometidos a cambio de válvula mitral. En 11 casos se utilizó válvula de StarrEdward y en 3 casos válvulas de duramadre. Se hacereferencias a la indicación quirúrgica detallando la táctica y técnica empleada. Se exponen los resultados postoperatorios obtenidos.
