The. authors report a case of advanced achalasia of the esophagus, treated by an abdominal approach, by means of a fundic patch operation (Thal's technique).Clínica! improvement was only partía!; the dysphagia for solids persisted. Considerations are made on the procedures of Thal, Grondhal, Heyrosky, Wangensteenand Maillet, concluding that, so far, there is no efficient technique to solve the advanced cases of this disease.
Los autores presentan un caso de dolicomegaefófago evolucionado, de gran volumen, tratado por ví-a abdominal, mediante plastia fúndicasegún técnica de Thal. La mejoría clínica fue solo parcial, persistiendo la disfagia para sólidos. Se hacen consideraciones sobre los procedimientos de Heller, Tha.I, Gro.ndhal, Heyrosky,Wangensteen y Maillet, concluyéndose que aún nio hay ninguna técnica eficaz para solucionar los casos avanzados d,e esta afección
