Resumen:
The paper refers to a case of Trendelenburg's operation performed as consequence of pulmonary embolism eight days after leg fracture. Even though the embolus was removedand the pulmonary artery was sutured restoring heart-beat, the patient" died shortly afterwards. Preoperatory reviva! therapy should be employed in order to reduce risk.
Se relata una operación de Trendelenburg practicada por embolia pulmonar ocho días después de una fractura de pierna. Aunque se extrajo el émbolo y se suturóla pulmonar recuperando el lado cardíaco, el enfermo falleció poco después. Para disminuir el riesgo se insiste en la aplicación de diversas medidas de reanimaciónpreoperatoria.
