Resumen:

The influence thrt the different ways of preparingthe skin area for an operation may have in the preventionof operative wound suppuration, is analysed in aprospectiva study, extended through eight months, with cases chosen at randomNo difference was found in 189 emergency operationswhere patients had been shaved for surgery in thesix hours immediately before, between desinfectionwith ether and iodopovirone solution alone or with previouswashing of the skin.437 selected operated patients evidenced that shavingfor surgery 2 o 3 hours before or the washingwithout shaving, of the operation area significantly reducesthe incidériées" of infection (p .e 0,02).
