Resumen:
Acute suppurated thyroiditis constitutes a clinica/situation which is relatively rare due to the fact thatthe intrinsic characteristics of this body result ingreat resistance against bacteria/ co/onization. Asfrom the advent of antibiotics, on/y sporadic casesof infections in the thyroid gland have been published.In our media we have not been ab/e to find asingle publication on this tapie.The patient is a 33 year o/d woman, suffering fromacute suppurated thyroiditis within the context ofmultinodular goitre, originating in an entero invasivediarrhea due to Sa/monella typhimurium.The interest of this paper /ies in the fact that it isdifficult to establish diagnosis and on the exceptionalnature of this pathology.
La tiroiditis aguda supurada es una situación clínicarelativamente infrecuente, debido a que las característicasintrínsecas de este órgano le dan granresistencia contra la colonización bacteriana. Desdeel advenimiento de los antibióticos, son esporádicoslos casos publicados de infecciones de laglándula tiroides. En nuestro medio no hemos encontradoninguna publicación al respecto.Se presenta una paciente de 33 años afectada poruna tiroiditis aguda supurada en el contexto de unbocio multinodular a punto de partida de una diarreaenteroinvasora a Salmonella typhimurium.La dificultad diagnóstica y el carácter excepcionalde esta patología le confieren interés a esta comunicación
