Resumen:
Rectal duplication is a rare entity that accounts for 5% of digestive tract duplications, with posterior rectal duplications being the most common. We present the case of a newborn male with an extrophic rectal duplication. The diagnosis was made clinically and confirmed by pathology. Surgical resection of the mass was performed, and the postoperative course was uneventful. The objective is to present a very rare entity that requires a high level of diagnostic suspicion, emphasizing that surgical resection is the treatment of choice to prevent subsequent complications.
La duplicación rectal es una entidad poco frecuente que representa el 5% de las duplicaciones del tracto digestivo, siendo las duplicaciones rectales posteriores las más frecuentes. Presentamos el caso de un paciente masculino recién nacido con una duplicación rectal extrófica. El diagnóstico fue clínico y se confirmó por anatomía patológica. Se realizó la resección quirúrgica de la masa y la evolución posoperatoria transcurrió sin complicaciones. El objetivo es presentar una entidad muy poco frecuente que requiere una alta sospecha diagnóstica, destacando que la resección quirúrgica es el tratamiento de elección para prevenir complicaciones posteriores.
A duplicação retal é uma entidade rara que representa 5% das duplicações do trato digestivo, sendo as duplicações retais posteriores as mais comuns. Apresentamos o caso de um recém-nascido do sexo masculino com duplicação retal extrófica. O diagnóstico foi clínico e confirmado por exame anatomopatológico. A ressecção cirúrgica da massa foi realizada, e o pós-operatório transcorreu sem intercorrências. O objetivo é apresentar uma entidade muito rara que requer alto nível de suspeição diagnóstica, enfatizando que a ressecção cirúrgica é o tratamento de escolha para prevenir complicações subsequentes.
