Report of the first published case of acute necrotizing- hemorrhagic pancreatitis treated by removing of pancreatic sequestra, in our country. The authors makea plea for this operation and note the indications and surgical technique, pointing out the need to act systematically llpon the biliary tract. Gastrostomy, feedingjejunostomy and continuous peritoneal lavage, are useful complementary therapeutic measures. The postoperative course of these patients must be followedin an intensive care unit.

Los autores presentan una observación de pancreatitis agud,a necró,tica.-hemorrágica tratada por secuestl'ectomía pancreática de urgencia. Se establecen las directivas quirúrgicasprincipales, señalando la necesidad de actuar sistemátic•amente sobre el polo biliar. La gastrostomía, la yeyunostomía de alimentación y el lavado peritoneal continuo postoperatorio,constituyen medida,s tempéuticas complementarias importantes. El control postop-eratorio ·exige el traslado de estos pacientes ,a una unidad de cuidados intensivos.
