Resumen:
The authors analyze the charateristics of the thyroid nodules regarding the possibility of cancer, emphasizing the high risk factors in that respect. They maintain that the thyroid nodules should not be operated on systematically fearing cancer; it is necessary instead to select only those patients that present several high risk factors for that treatment.
Los autores analizan las características de los nódulos tiroideos en cuanto a la posibilidad de cáncer, destacando los factores de alto riesgo en ese sentido.Sostienen que los nódulos tiroideos no deben ser operados sistemáticamente por ese temor y es preciso en cambio seleccionar para ese tratamiento solamente aquellos que presenten varios de los factores de alto riesgo.
