The paper studies the sclerosing treatment of varicose veins. Stress is laid on the need of admitting that treatment of varicose veins should combine surgery and sclerosis. Surgery still comes first, but the sclerosing treatment has its special app!ication. The mechanism whereby sclerosing substances act, as well as the characteristics of the latter, are analyzed; and the technique of sclerosing injections and possible complications, arising thereof, are discussed.

Se estudia el tratamiento esclerosante de las várices.Se enfatiza en la necesidad de admitir que el tratamiento de las várices es mixto: cirugía y esclerosis. La cirugía conserva el primer lugar, pero el tratamiento esclerosante tiene sus propias indicaciones. Se analiza el mecanismo de acción de las sustancias esclerosantes y las características de las mismas. Se estudian la técnica de las inyecciones esclerosantes y las complicaciones que puede ocasionar.
