Resumen:

The paper deals with a neuro-endocrinous carcinomaof rectum, a highly aggressi ve histologicalvariety of cancer rarely found in this topography-The patients was a 79-year-old woman carryinga TNM stage IV.The operation performed consisted of a lowanterior oncological resection of rectum.Inmediate evolution showed rapid progression oflesion and the exploratory laparostomy performed 4months later showed gastric infiltration thereby.It was therefore decided to proceed no further.In addition the paper contains an analysis ofthe various factors involved in prognosis of thiscondition.


Se analiza un caso clínico de un cáncer neuroendócrinode recto, variedad histológica infrecuentey altamente agresiva de los cánceres deesta topografía, en una paciente de 79 años, en unestadio IV de la estadificación TNM, a la cual sele realizó una resección anterior baja de recto oncológica.En su evolución inmediata desarrolla unarápida progresión lesional y la laparotomía exploradorarealizada 4 meses después, muestra la infiltracióngástrica por el mismo proceso, por lo cualse decide no actuar sobre la misma.
