Analysis of gallbladder cancer treatment and results: about 175 observations
Análisis del tratamiento del cáncer de vesícula biliar y sus resultados: a propósito de 175 observaciones
Resumen:
The treatment of gal!bladder cancer in 175 patients and the results obtained, are analyzed. This series, because of the number of case histories involver, is the third in the world literature. Only 3 patients are still ali ve after 5 years ( 1.7 % ) ; the average rate. of survival of patients subject to paliative procedures was 2.7 months and of those explored,1.5 months. R. Smith's indications, with modifications, are discussed together with therapeutic conduct adapted to each situation in the light of present knowledge of biologyand treatment of gallbladder cancer.
Se analiza el tratamiento y sus resultados en 175 obs. de cáncer de vesícula; serie que ocupa, numéricamente considerada, el tercer lugar en la casuísticamundial. Solamente 3 enfermos permanecen vivos a los 5 años ( 1. 7 % ) ; el promec:Uo de so brevida de los sometidos a procedimientos paliativos fue de 2.7 meses y de losexplorados de 1.5 meses. Se plantea el esquema de indicaciones de R. Smith modificado, con la conducta terapéutica adecuada a cada situación, a la luz de los conocimientos actuales de la biología y del tratamiento del cáncer de vesícula biliar.
