Embolias arteriales de los miembros
Resumen:
Eleven cases of acute arterial embolism of the limbs are discussed in this paper which includes the national literature on the subject. The clinic and treatment of this disease are updated with special emphasis on the importan.ce of early surgical treatment. All patients were operated upon and embolectomy was performed; two of them were affected by gangrene of the limbs and died, two repeated the embolism and two died during the immediate postoperatory period. This embolic vascular disease is indeed very serious since it is the cause of almost all deaths due to cerebral or mesenteric embolism.
