Patients suffering from severe sepsis originatingin the abdominal-peritonea/ region frequently requirere-interventions, as this condition persists with highmorbility Management of therapy is difficu/t andtends to be controversia/; existing studies considera universe which that is far from homogenic.The analysis covers a five-year period. Case materialinvolved 55 patients with severe abdominal sepsisrequiring at)east one re-laparotomy. lt takesinto considerations the incidence, c/inica/ manifestationsleading to a positive re-laparotomy, deathrateand factors involved in prognosis. Los pacientes con sepsis severa de origen abdomino-peritoneal requieren frecuentemente reintervenciones,persistiendo con una elevada morbimortalidad.Su manejo terapéutico es dificultoso y controvertido,con estudios que consideran poblacionespoco homogéneas.Se realizó un análisis retrospectivo durante un períodode cinco años. Se estudiaron un total de 55pacientes con sepsis abdominal severa que requirieronal menos una relaparotomía. Analizamos laincidencia, las manifestaciones clínicas que orientana una relaparotomía positiva, la mortalidad ylos factores pronósticos. La ausencia de disfunciónmultiorgánica (OMO) constituyó un criterio deexclusión.
