Ultrasonography is of great utility in the study ofpancreatic pathology with 75 to 85% of correctdiagnosis ( 74% in this serie). Must be added thatamong similar .utility procedures is the one of minorcost. The value in the diagnosis of acute pancreatitisand their complications is also seen in-:theevolution, treatent and prognosis. In pancreatictumors the diagnostic efficiency can reach to 90% ifwe add the aimed biopsy.

La ultrasonografía presta una gran utilidad en elestudio de la patología pancreática, con un 75 a 85%de diagnósticos correctos ( 74% en la presente serie),:debiendo agregarse a ello es el de menor costo entreprocedimientos de similar utilidad. Su eficacia en eldiagnóstico de las pancreatitis agudas y sus com•plicaciones, tiene asimismo valor evolutivo, te·rapeútico y pronóstico. En los tumores pan·creáticos, si se le suma la biopsia apuntada, suposibilidad diagnóstica puede ascender al 90%.
