. Five cases of acute arterial embolism that had!'volved for 30 hours to 12 days are presented.Patients have had severe cardiac disease. Surgerya<'hieved good results. The inferior limb was affectedin four cases, the arm was in the other one. Theimportance of surgical treatment without takinginto account the evolution period is pointed out.Factors that influence over the pathological courseand the prognosis are discussed.

Los autores presentan 5 casos de OAA evolucionada,entre 30 horas y 12 días, en pacientesportadores de cardiopatía severa, en los cuales eltratamiento quirúrgico dio buenos resultados.Cuatro de los casos eran OAA de miembros inferioresy el restante de miembro superior. Se destacala importancia del tratamiento quirúrgico independientementedel tiempo de evolución y se discutenlos factores que influyen sobre el cuadro patológicoy el pronóstico.
