Resumen:
An adult patient suffering from pyloric hypertrophy, underwent a long evolution, and diagnosis was difflcult. Finally surgical treatment solved the problem and diagnosis was es.tablished through histopathological study of specimeri. The paper also contains a review. of literature on this interesting disease and from it we can derive the following conclusions: Its etiology is uncertain and requires consideration of physiopathology of antropyloroduodenal region; clinicoradio-endoscopic diagnosis is limited; surgical treatment, involving resection, is efficient and the sole treatment which makes complete· hist.opathological analisis possible, thus leading to definite diagnosis of disease.
Los autores presenta-n un caso de hipertrofia pilórica en el adulto, con larga evolución sintomática y dificultades en su diagnóstico hasta que su tratamiento quirúrgico permitióuna solución defiinitiva y d diagnóstico mediante estudio histológico de la pieza. A propósito de este caso se hace una revisión de la literar tura sobre esta interesante enfermedad, de la cual surgen: su incierta etioügia, que obliga a reflexionar sobre la fisi:opatología de la regiónantropiloroduod:nal; Las limitaciones del diagnóstico clínico-radioendoscópico. La eficacia del triamiento quirúrgico reseccionista; el único que permite un estudio histológico completo y el diagnóstico definitivo de dicha enfermedad.
