Emergency endoscopy in digestive bleeding
Endoscopía de urgencia en las hemorragias digestivas
Resumen:
Intrahemorrhagic endoscopy is fundamental in determining etiology of digesti ve hemorrhages, especially in view of the fact that potentially bleeding lesiona!associations are frequent. By this method the proportion of so-called "hemorrhages of undetermined origin" has decreased, and its deathrate has been reduced. It has also resulted in a re uction of both the socalled hemorrhages "of undetermined origin" and in the deathrate of digestive hemorrhages by making possible diagnosis and effective therapy. Thanks to it, acute hemorrhagic erosive lesions
