Background: Over 20 years ago Líchtenstein renderedpopular a technique, which consisted of placinga polypropy/ene mesh far repair of inguinal hernia,applying this technique regardless of its characteristicsand thus enabling repair procedures freefrom tension.Our experience with Líchtenstein, s technique beginsin 1993 with two preliminary series in the years1994 and 1998.
