Resumen:
The authors have treated 6 cases of sigmoid volvulus. In this paper they analyze those elements of assistance in the formulating of a better clinical-radiological diagnosis and they asses usual features such as advanced age, frequency of serious lesiona! association, prolonged evolution before consulting physician, recurrence, high death-rate.Surgical tactics to be employed in each particular circumstance are discussed.
Analizan los elementos conducentes a su mejor diagnóstico clinicorradiológico. Evalúan los promedios, a destacar: edad avanzada, frecuencia de asociaciones lesionales graves, evoluciónprolongada hasta la consulta, recidiva, alta mortalidad. Se discuten las tácticas quirúrgicas adecuadas a cada circunstancia.
