The pleurectomy in the treatment of malignant effusions
The metastatic invasion of the pleural serosa frequently determines the production of an effusion. The characteristic of these effusions is that they are recurrent, large in volume and frequently hemorrhagic, which leads to a firm stance of malignant etiology. On other occasions, the effusion is serofibrinous and leads us to consider other differential diagnoses
