Roentgendiagnosis of colon surgical urgency
Roentgendiagnóstico de la urgencia quirúrgica del colon
Resumen:
The author mentions the different radiological procedures applicable to colonic study and their suitability for use in each pathological situation, considered as urgent. The elements to be taken into consideration in the study of simple abdominal radiography are analyzed together cathethe possibility of registering the pathology of colonic emergencie by means of the new procedures with register the intensifiedimage i.e. inthe magnetoscopic recorder (video-tape) and the 17 mm. camera (photofluorography). An analysis is made of radiologic imagesof colonic pathology which makes necessary urgent surgery in children and in adults. In children: radiology of colonic agenesia and anorectal atresias with anal imperforations; of intestinal obstructions in congenital or idiopathic megacolon; and iliocolic and colocolic invagination. In adults: radiology of peritonitis due to perforation, wounds and/or bursting of the colon; massive and serious colonic haemorrhagesin diverticulosis and other pathological condtions, and radiology of total colonic obstruction due to tumors, inflamations, volvulus, invagination and other causes.
