Resumen:
Seven cases of deiayed surgical infections are presented,considering as such, those thal occur morethan six months alter surgery. lt is suggested that themajority of these infections are caused by microorganismsintroduced al the time of the operatlon and thatthey are made evidenl as a result of alterations in thehost's defensive mechanisms.
Se presentan 7 casos de Infecciones qu1rurg1castardías, considerando como tales aquellas que se evidenciaronmás allá de los seis meses del acto quirúrgico.Se sugiere que la mayoría de estas infecciones sonocasionadas por microorganismos introducidos en elmomento de la operación y que se evidencian comorespuesta a alteraciones en los mecanismos de defensadel hospedero.
