Giant pleomorphic adenoma of the submaxillary gland

Resumen:
A patient presented a gigantic pleomorphic adenoma of submandibular gland. A revision of existing bibliography led to the conclusion that elective surgical therapy is total submaxillectümy, which has very low rate of recurrency.Malignancy of this type of tumor is very high due to its prolongued evolution and size.
Se presenta un caso d,e Adenoma Pleomorfo gigante de la glándula submaxilar. Efectuada una revisión bibliográfica al respecto se concluye que la terapéutica quirúrgicade elección es la submaxilectomía total, presentando una incidencia de recidiva -muy baja.La frecuencia de malignización de este tipo, de tumor, por su larga evolución y tamaño es muy alta.
