Sumario:The aim of this article is to analyse the juridical statute designed by the Directive 2012/29/UE for the victims of crime in Europe. To that effect, we examine theconcept of victim that it offers and the basic rights victims in the criminal proceeding: information, participation, protection, assistance and reparation. The regulation of these rights establishes minimum standards, in such a way that the members States can articulate of more wide form their content in order to provide a higher level of protection to all the victims or to specific typologies of them.
