Bienestar animal en Instagram: tendencias y discursode eco-influencers uruguayos

Animal Welfare on Instagram: Trends and Public Discourse of UruguayanEco-influencers

Multimodal discourse analysis is carried out on a year of posts (n = 200) by 17 Uruguayan eco-influencers on Instagram, with emphasis on the posts that address the emerging animal welfare agenda. Thus, there is a predominance of the discourse of Protectionism in Defense of Wild Animals and a focus on consumer action. The study contributes to the understanding of the terms in which new influential voices in new digital contexts express themselves about these topics.
