| Sumario: | The aim of this article is to propose a theoretical reflection, supported by empirical evidence, that allows us to contemplate the tensions surrounding the work with digital objects and archives in contemporary times. We begin with two questions: firstly, how to grasp the impact of digitization on archival practices, which involve specific forms of classification, preservation, access, and disposal of cultural artifacts. Secondly, how to conceptualize the essence of digitally-born objects and archives intended for networked circulation. Drawing from these interrogations, this study is oriented along two key dimensions: the research trajectory influenced by the production of artists, writers, and intellectuals, and the transformations that merge the postmodern “problem” of the archive with the realms of communication, media, and information networks. The confluence of theoretical discourse and practical praxis compels us to explore the nature of networked digital objects, the contemporary modes of knowledge production and dissemination, and the paradigm shifts in approaches to recording and documentary intervention. |
