| Sumario: | This work highlights the importance of new studies on the circulation of meaning for a conceptualization of the contemporary. In a context in which not only the media and institutions build collectives, but also individuals and collectives, it is proposed to demonstrate by appealing to different studies carried out in Argentina and Brazil that these new studies are capable from the specificity offered by their focus on the processes of mediatization and circulation of meaning, to account for key phenomena of the current transformation of society. |
