Resumen:
Sumario:In this paper we present the preliminary results of an ongoing investigation concerning the difficulties in Uruguay to implement HR management models in Uruguayan companies. We conducted a field study on the management models applied in a sector and their impact on business strategy, reaching three working hypotheses: The first hypothesis refers to the prevailing business philosophy in the Senior Management teams of Uruguayan companies which prevents viewing the proper management of human resources as a key element in achieving business strategy. A second hypothesis focuses in the fact that HR management is not conducted according to management models but, through a wide range of tools that are not necessarily part of a larger system or model.A final hypothesis concerns the influence of labor relations influence in the implementation of integrated management of human capital systems or models.
