Resumen:
Sumario:This interview with Argentine researcher Mario Carlón discusses various issues related to the circulation of meaning in contemporary societies, a line of research he has been working on for several years. Some of the topics discussed are the main contributions of his recent book, Circulación del sentido y construcción de colectivos en una sociedad hipermediatizada (Nueva Editorial Universitaria, 2020); the analytical challenges derived from the presence of diverse media systems (mass media, social media networks, underground system) in today's hypermediatized societies, in which there are also multiple enunciators, both individual and collective, with a large and unprecedented production of contents; the influence of Eliseo Verón in his work; his reflection on the influence of Peircean thought in Latin America; the phenomenon of polarization in societies characterized by the circulation of meaning as difference; among other topics. This interview seeks to contribute to informed dialogue and constructive exchange in the field of communication studies.
