| Sumario: | Objective: To describe the facilities and difficulties of the residents regarding their experience in a National Obstetric Nursing Residency Program, regarding the humanization of childbirth and the puerperium. Method: a descriptive, exploratory study with a qualitative approach, conducted with six nurses graduated from the obstetric nursing residency course of a public university. For data collection, a semi-structured interview was used, which were analyzed by the Content Analysis Technique, in the Thematic Analysis modality. Results: from the residents' reflections, through the emerging categories, it was verified that they recognized as positive points for the implementation of the humanization of childbirth and the postpartum period: the support of the coordination and tutoring of the obstetric residency course; the clear and objective interpersonal relationship with the entire multidisciplinary team; the physical structure of the institution; while identifying as negative points: the conquest of the environment; the resistance on the part of the multidisciplinary team and the patients; the institutional norms; and the interventionist culture. Conclusion: It is noticed that obstetric nursing residents still need to conquer their spaces in maternity hospitals in a more emphatic way, allowing greater autonomy, with a view to putting into practice the implementation of new strategies, based on the humanization of care. |
