Resumen:
Sumario:In this study, we examine guides, manuals, and decalogues for the coverage of gender violence cases aimed at journalists, published in Argentina between 2007 and 2021. We consider these documents as discursive productions where we identify traces of the struggle to redefine the meaning of gender violence. Using a socio-discursive perspective, our methodological strategy involves reconstructing the contexts in which each material was produced. We focus on the discursive topoi that frame the issue as a social problem and the recommendations provided. We conclude that the manuals offer general tools for addressing gender violence in the media, highlighting tensions around concepts such as what constitutes violence and who is cast in the roles of victim and perpetrator. Furthermore, we recognize that between 2015 and 2020, there was a proliferation of entities prescribing these correct forms of gender-sensitive journalism.
