Resumen:
Sumario:Abstract. The study of teacher Julio Castro about the institutional model in Escuela Normal Rural de Victoria in Chile (1944) and the concept of Fundamental Education from UNESCO (1950) were two influential precedents for the curriculum of training of teachers specialized in Rural Education designed by the Rural Education Section (1958). This article aims at showing some results of the analysis of the educational model in Escuela Normal de Victoria and the theory and methodology of the Fundamental Education to work with rural communities in crisis situation. The methodological strategy of research in the theoretical level incorporates the institutional analysis of Lidia Fernández, the curricular theory, the planning theory from a strategic planning approach, and the communication theory.
