Resumen:
Sumario:The present study, with a mixed approach and pre-experimental design, with pre and post-test with one group, aimed to evaluate an intervention in the family system of adolescents with low school performance, in two municipal schools of São Leopoldo / RS.Seven families participated in an intervention and answered the Inventory of Family Support Perception and a semi-structured interview for parents and adolescents. School performance was evaluated through concepts. The intervention occurred in four fortnightly meetings of 90 minutes using expressive resources. The qualitative analysis indicated a greater dialogue, family union and the acquisition of behaviors related to norms, limits and the organization of study schedules, in addition to an overall improvement in performance, data that were confirmed by the quantitative analysis. It is noted the importance of developing family system intervention to help parents understand the need of participating in the teaching-learning process of their children.
