Sumario: | In 2016, the Center for Entrepreneurial Development of the Catholic University of Uruguay carried out a survey of 1.088 university students, based on the framework of the Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students' Survey organized by the University of St. Gallen-Switzerland, audited by the consulting firm Ernst & Young. The main focus of this descriptive research, based on the global findings, is to analyze the entrepreneurial intentions of the students of the Catholic University of Uruguay, in particular, Health Sciences students versus the rest of UCU students. Based on a literature review, the hypothesis is that Health Sciences students demonstrate less entrepreneurial intention than the rest of the UCU students, being the university environment an important factor. After a quantitative analysis of statistical associations (chi-square tests) and significant mean difference, it is concluded that MCS students present lower entrepreneurial intention than the other UCU students (percentage difference), but the differences are not statistically significant. However, it is observed that the environment, the climate and the areas of study of the university favorably influence the entrepreneurial intention. |
