Resumen:
Sumario:Abstract. Immigrants from different origins came to Uruguay during the 20th century. Very soon their integration became an issue of interest for intellectuals and politicians of that time. At a first moment it was thought that through the melting pot model, the newcomers would be completely integrated to our society. However, the reality was very different because, in practice, the integration model that took place in our country was another one: multiculturalism. Ethnic education centers created by the different groups of immigrants are one of the irrefutable evidences of that. This article analyzes this affirmation through the development of Jewish education in Uruguay from the beginning of the 20th century until our days.
