Sumario:This study is designed within the context of the Childhood and Adolescent Uruguayan Health Program. The purspose is: contribute to improving quality life of children between 2 and 4 years old who were assisted in Cerro Health Centre, during September 1st to November30th in 2012 in Montevideo, Uruguay. During nursing consultation, children with lead contamination risk were detected by the application of a questionnaire designed by the Uruguayan Pediatric Enviromental Unit. Results showed that there were seventy eight children between 2 and 4 years old with Risk of Lead Contamination in relation with the exposure to enviromental pollutants. After the Lead Contamination Risk is diagnosed, the nurse provides information, plans patients monitoring, promotes teamwork as well as coordination with National Organizations involved in this subject. Families self-care stimulation was essential for the interventions. These children belong to a critical context by living close to factories, with no sanitation, and in presence of rodents, rabbish dumps and smoking habits. The social profile of the parentes and or caregivers and of their context was the following:85% of these homes had pets; 76% lacked of sanitation and admitted having contact with rodents;45% of them burned rubbish and electric cables. Regarding education level, 64% of parents had not finished primary education.
