Resumen:
Sumario:ABSTRACT. Recent Law N° 19.172, called “Marijuana, its by-products. Government’s control and regulation of import, production, purchase, storage, commercialization and distribution” sets forth, among other issues, the sale of marijuana for medicinal and recreational purposes in drugstores. This generates serious doubts regarding the individuals who are directly involved, particularly Pharmaceutical Chemists, to determine if they are authorized to reject this option. We understand that the conscientious objection is perfectly admissible in the Uruguayan legal system and it constitutes a valid option for those who understand that there is a conflict between the values and principles of their conscience and what is established by the regulation that imposes a conduct that is at odds with them.
