La presente monografía propone mostrar un breve recorrido histórico del término “trabajo”; la importancia para el ser humano y como es vivido al día de hoy con los nuevos avances tecnológicos. Para ello será necesario presentar a la Hipermodernidad, época actual en la que vivimos; sociedad de la transparencia y la inmediatez que agota al cuerpo y deja la cabeza “quemada”. Se propagan cambios vertiginosos en todos los ámbitos del ser humano; uno de ellos: las profesiones, que ante la mecanización y automatización de las tareas, van mutando o desapareciendo del mercado laboral. Varios autores se han referido a la temática, algunos más alentadores y otros un tanto más pesimistas al respecto. El ser humano está transitando tiempos de incertidumbre, de ansiedad, desasosiego, desgaste y dolor físico, en donde las máquinas y la inteligencia artificial se van convirtiendo en un compañero más de trabajo. Es importante por ese motivo desde la clínica poder conocer el ambiente donde se mueve para poder ayudar a reflexionar, pensar y actuar al respecto, en pos de transitar esos cambios exitosamente.

The present dissertation aims to provide a brief historic review of the term “work”; its importance for the human being and how it is currently lived/experienced in light of the new technological advances. For this, it is necessary to introduce the Hypermodernity as the current age in which we are living, a society characterized by transparency and immediateness, which leave the body exhausted and the head “burned”. Fast-paced changes spread across every field of the human existence. One of those fields are professions, which gradually disappear from the labour market due to the mechanization and automation of tasks. Several authors have addressed this topic. While some of them showed a more encouraging approach, others have been more pessimistic about it. The fact is that the human being is going through uncertain times; times of anxiety, discomfort, unrest and physical pain, where machines and artificial intelligence are becoming another coworker. Hence, it is important to get to know the environment where the human being moves in order to help him to reflect, think, act accordingly and to navigate those changes successfully.
