Modeling thermal performance in the uruguayan residential sector
Resumen:
A tool for modeling the thermal performance of the Uruguayan residential building stock was developed. EnergyPlus simulations were performed for typical buildings, and the results were extrapolated for the whole residential sector according to the prevalence of these typical buildings among the whole housing stock. Python functions and its Eppy library were used to generate and simulate the large quantity of EnergyPlus models required to represent the Uruguayan housing stock as accurately as possible. Results of thermal performances were obtained for the residential sector, and also the impact of energy efficiency strategies was analyzed.
