The benefits of nutrition, diet, and physical activity in the life of every person are recognized worldwide. Numerous guidelines seek to improve nutrition and optimize weight gain during pregnancy, in order to promote the health of the mother and child binomial. The present study, of an observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional nature, seeks to estimate the prevalence of physical activity in pregnant women during 2019 in the public services of the "Hospital Escuela del Litoral de Paysandú" (HEL) and the "Hospital Regional de Salto" (HRS). A modified and adapted survey is proposed based on the “Pregnancy Physical ActivityQuestionnaire” (PPAQ), which is delivered through the WhatsApp application, with the woman's prior telephone consent. Through access to the Perinatal Information System (SIP), the results of physical activity are compared with the variables of the path of pregnancy termination, maternal weight gain, birth weight of the newborn, and the Apgar test. The number of women surveyed is defined by the number of births that occurred in the period analyzed, for this purpose, the birth registry book of each institution is accessed. With the data obtained by the questionnaire, the number of pregnant women who meet the physical activity criteria according to the WHO is identified and they are divided into two groups, those who perform physical activity and those who do not. Being a prevalence of physical activity of 33% and the average of sedentary activities of 3.2 hours. It is concluded that there are not enough evidences to affirm that physical activity affects maternal weight gain and the way to finish it. However, regarded to the characteristics of the newborn, the results don't vary circumstantially between those who perform physical activity and those who don't do nothing.
