Towards a sustainable mobility plan for Engineering Faculty, Universidad de la República, Uruguay
Resumen:
This article presents an analysis of the current situation regarding sustainable mobility in Engineering Faculty, Universidad de la República, Montevideo, Uruguay. Sustainable mobility is a relevant issue in transportation within the novel paradigm of smart cities. The presented analysis is oriented to provide speci c recommendations towards developing a sustainable mobility plan for Engineering Faculty and the surrounding neighborhood. The case study is analyzed considering the main concepts from related works and well-known quantitative and qualitative indicators. An empirical study based on questionnaires performed in the zone is introduced, providing interesting information for the study. The main results are discussed, including the motivations and issues that prevent users to move towards sustainable transportation modes. Speci c suggestions are formulated to develop and improve sustainable mobility in the studied zone.
