Resumen:

This paper presents the first results of the diagnosis of a project that seeks to promote the development and use of Remote Laboratories in Argentina, Costa Rica and Uruguay. In the current context, educational institutions must integrate resources that allow remote experimental work to achieve the knowledge and skills necessary for learning science at both the secondary and University levels. The project is developed under the modality of research based on design, in this diagnostic stage a total of 448 teachers completed a specially designed instrument, among the main results it was obtained that the participants consider experimental work very important in the teaching and learning of science, however, the frequency with which experimental activities are carried out is low, and the need for focused resources to carry out experimental work in science is also pointed out. From this starting point, the project proposes the design of new remote access laboratories and teaching sequences to overcome the difficulties encountered.
